Elizabeth Bawel, B. Mus.

Harpist Elizabeth Bawel has been called a “rising star” in the music world. Originally from Clearwater, Florida, Elizabeth currently performs in Toronto, Canada while studying with world-renowned harpist Judy Loman. She is a recent graduate from the University of Toronto’s Bachelor of Music program in Harp Performance where she served as co-Principal harp of the University of Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Elizabeth has also performed with the Etobicoke Philharmonic Orchestra, the York Symphony Orchestra, and the Cathedral Bluffs Symphony Orchestra. Elizabeth has participated in masterclasses with Jennifer Swartz, Erica Goodman, Elizabeth Hainen, Mariko Anraku, and Natalia Shamayeva. She can frequently be heard in solo recital, as well as classical and new music concerts, around the GTA, and is in increasing demand as a musician for weddings and private functions.

Elizabeth has appeared in various festivals, including the Eastern Music Festival, the New York Summer Music Festival, and the Florida Music Educators Association All-State Orchestra. Her competition highlights include the Lakeland Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Concerto Competition, with whom she performed Handel’s Concerto in B-Flat, and the Walker’s Rising Stars Competition where she performed Salzedo’s Whirlwind on state television. Elizabeth is a graduate of the Interlochen Arts Academy where she studied with Joan Raeburn Holland.
